YOUTH AND KIDS WORK

SMALL GROUPS

Any questions?

Our work with children, young people and families is overseen by our Families Worker, Jon Hares (a professionally qualified youth worker).  Feel free to get in touch with him on 07701 303760, email jon@highworthchurch.co.uk or pop into The Bridge for a cup of tea and a chat, especially if you’re new!  He’d love to meet up with you for a 'brew' and hear some more of your story.

Our Vision

We want to empower a generation of children, young people and families in Highworth to change the world with the love of Jesus.  We believe that God is there to be encountered through His Holy Spirit and want that to flow through all we do and that means this starts with us!  So whether we’re learning from the Bible, praying, worshipping, getting stuck into our community by loving our neighbours or just having fun together, this is what we’re living for!

Schools Work

A key area of our work is in schools where we offer pastoral mentoring, assemblies, workshops and lunch clubs, as well as seasonal trails (Easter/Christmas etc.)  We are proactively working towards our dream of a chaplaincy serving every school in our town, through our partnerships with other local churches.  We passionately believe that God loves our community and wants us to be part of bringing healing, wholeness and hope to everyone we meet!

Families Work

We have a bunch of amazing stuff we do to strengthen family life, encourage discipleship in the home and offer support when times get tough.  You can find out about our work with families here.

Youth and Children's Groups

We run a range of groups, some in partnership with other local churches.  We do this to foster the holistic development of children and young people and encourage them on their journey of discipleship.  You can find out more about our groups for children and young people here.

Residentials

Young people in aged 7-13 are invited to take part in residential activities we run in partnership with other local churches.  These currently include Spree Southwest (a camp run annually by Urban Saints and South West Youth Ministries) and Soul Survivor, a Christian festival/camp aimed at teenagers which takes place in Peterborough annually.

Safeguarding

We have a fantastic safeguarding team who help us to keeping children safe as well as full insurance and child protection/safeguarding policies.  We work proactively and collaboratively with local children’s services.
